March 12, 2020 – Chicago, IL – In response to the growing public health crisis posed by the coronavirus, managed care firm Rising Medical Solutions (Rising) is now endorsing end-to-end telehealth delivery for non-emergent patient care.
“The World Health Organization has declared coronavirus a global pandemic and U.S. cases have doubled in just days,” says Chief Operating Officer Anne Kirby, RN. “While Rising has had telehealth capabilities for quite some time, we are taking extra measures to channel health care services to remote treatment options for appropriate patient cases.”
These remote options include telephonic nurse case management in lieu of field case management and telemedicine video or telephone appointments in lieu of onsite physician appointments. In the coming weeks and months, such safety measures are essential for avoiding unnecessary patient risk and contact, while still delivering the care and attention needed to return patients to full health.
Rising’s Telehealth Task Force for patient care complements the company’s emergency preparedness plan for its own staff. “Our pandemic plan includes several tiers of risk with appropriate safety triggers at each level,” says Kirby. “Our plan includes a full remote workforce, if necessary, so we can continue servicing customers with as little disruption as possible.”
