Chicago, IL – November 16, 2017 – Longtime workers’ compensation strategist David Huth is the newest member of Rising Medical Solutions’ (Rising) executive leadership team. David brings 30 years of industry knowledge and technical expertise to his role as Vice President of Product Design and Development, responsible for optimizing Rising’s managed care portfolio.
Most recently, David served as Vice President of Strategy for Optum’s managed care and settlement solutions division, leading initiatives to maximize core competencies while simultaneously identifying new business opportunities. Prior to Optum, he was a partner at consultancy Maddy Bowling & Associates, where he advised clients on market strategy, data analytics, and product improvement.
His insurance services career also includes overseeing the Workers’ Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) CompScope program, the industry’s largest database of workers’ compensation claims; an assistant vice presidency at eStellarNet, one of the first companies to introduce e-billing to the workers’ compensation marketplace; and a dozen years at Intracorp in a variety of pivotal roles.

Among David’s first initiatives is directing the upcoming launch of Rising’s new disability and reserving guidance tool for its customers. The tool will leverage multiple proprietary and industry data sources, including the Official Diagnosis Guidelines (ODG), to enable real-time severity scoring for use in predictive modeling, accurate reserving, and outcomes analysis and optimization.
