PANEL TO DISCUSS strategies being used to surmount top claims management obstacles
September 29, 2022 – Chicago, IL – Rising Medical Solutions (Rising) today announced that experts from its Workers’ Compensation Benchmarking Study will be featured in a panel discussion at the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. The session will reveal the top obstacles that both claims leaders and frontline claims personnel have repeatedly cited in the Workers’ Compensation Benchmarking Study’s annual research.
The conference session, titled Do This Now! Strategies High Performers are Using to Surmount Claims Management Obstacles, includes an esteemed panel of industry leaders who will discuss the top three (3) consistently ranked barriers to achieving optimal outcomes and provide expert perspectives on how claims organizations are making headway. Specifically, they’ll discuss strategies for best facilitating return-to-work, ways to improve injured worker engagement to stave off litigation, and methods for better equipping frontline staff to address comorbidities and psychosocial issues. The panel will also explore how worker-centric approaches are a key remedy.
“Eight years of data shows—to succeed in the face of deep-rooted claims challenges—organizations need to transform legacy processes, mindsets, semantics, and ingrained cultural practices. Specifically, our data shows that those claims organizations with superior outcomes are also those who are further along in this transformation process,” said Rachel Fikes, Rising’s Chief Experience Officer and Director, Workers’ Compensation Benchmarking Study. “With this in mind, our latest research brought together claims leaders from diverse organizations to dig deeper into exactly how they are evolving to outpace their peers.”
Insights from the first-person focus group research conducted for the 2021 Study will be shared during the session, including what industry leaders are doing to combat core challenges at the heart of a consistent claims management dilemma. Expert session panelists include:
- Denise Zoe Algire, Director of Risk Initiatives & National Medical Director, Albertsons Companies
- Suzanne Emmet, Senior Vice President, Claims, Eastern Alliance Insurance Group
- Kim Haugaard, Senior Vice President, Policyholder Services, Texas Mutual Insurance Company
- (Moderator) Rachel Fikes, Chief Experience Officer & Director, Worker’s Compensation Benchmarking Study, Rising Medical Solutions
This dynamic and highly engaging session will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at 3:30 p.m. PDT in Session Room 3 at Mandalay Bay. Participants in the session will walk away with strategies to overcome entrenched claims obstacles, improve adaptability, and thrive in this next evolution of the workers’ compensation industry.
Rising staff will also be on hand in the conference exhibit hall at booth 415 from October 19 through October 20.
